Frequently Asked Questions
- How long have you been a photographer?
-
I have specialized in photography for the past three years, and I have obtained my degree in Commercial Photography from Appalachian State University. I fell in love with photographing all things in middle school, but did not pursue my business until my freshman year of high school in 2017.
- How long until clients receive images?
-
Clients will receive all downloadable images for their portrait or lifestyle session within 2-3 weeks. All printed products will be received within 4-6 weeks.
Weddings and Elopements will receive all downloadable images within 3-4 weeks and all printed products will be received within 4-6 weeks. Sneak peeks will be delivered throughout the 4-6 weeks as I know the anticipation of receiving your images can make the wait feel longer!
- Do I have to order prints through you?
-
You do not have to order prints through me, but I highly recommend you do. A great reason to order your prints through me is because of the high quality photos your prints will look and have. We will have a proofing session where you can determine which prints you would like. If prints are not purchased through me, clients can receive a print release form, giving them access to print their purchased digital images from recommended vendors.
- Do you offer a list of location ideas?
-
I have an ever updated list of locations ideas ranging from nature to urban looks. If you are needing a little help finding the perfect location, I can send you a list of 15+ ideas to choose from!
- Do you have a cancellation policy?
-
I do have a cancellation policy. I know that life can get crazy, so in the event of rescheduling, due to illness, weather, or extenuating circumstances, I will use all efforts to accommodate the change. If I am not able to accommodate the change, the rescheduling will be deemed as a cancellation. Please provide me with notice no later than 72 hours before the original session date. If it is not rescheduled within 72 hours, 30% of your session fee must be paid. This is because of the limitation of being able to book another client within the short period.
- Do you deliver every image you shoot?
-
No, I do not. I eliminate any duplicate images, test shots, missed focus, shots with bad expressions and other images that may weaken the overall product delivery. I do not expect you to have the expertise or time to zoom into each image to select one with the sharpest focus, so I spend hours doing that on my end. With my expertise I will eliminate ones that I feel are duplicates and only deliver the best ones.
- What happens in the event of rain?
-
One way to avoid the rain is by booking earlier than you think you need to in case rescheduling needs to occur.
If a storm comes through and it's forecasted to rain heavily and steadily throughout the day, we will reschedule. I will be in touch with you throughout the week to watch the radar. I typically do not like to reschedule due to weather until 24 hours in advance since the weather changes frequently.
If you see rain for the forecast and do not want to take that chance, please refer to my cancellation policy and reach out to me within 72 hours to ensure that I can reschedule without cancelling your planned session.
- What should we wear?
-
Do's
- Keep it simple! Stick to solid colors so your outfit isn't the first thing that is noticed.
- Flatter your shape- Wear something that fits and is something that you feel beautiful in! Do not wear clothes that are entirely too tight or loose, or clothes that accentuate insecurities.
- Coordinate your clothing- In group photos, try to keep everyone on the same page and have a color palette of 2-4 colors. I recommend for your family outfit planning to start with one item of clothing with a few colors (like mom or daughter's dress) and pull colors from that for everyone else to wear. Dress like you go together!
- Be yourself- You want your photos to look like you!
Don't
- Wear logos- Don't let logos and other known emblems distract you from your personality.
- Dress too casual- A photo session is a special occasion, so think about wearing your Sunday best!
- Forego planning- Don't "wing it" when it comes to outfit coordination. You don't wan't to be scrambling on the day of your session so plan accordingly to enjoy this time!
- Try a new style- I am all about styling in new ways, but don't save this for the day of your session. Don't try an outfit on for the first time or style your hair and makeup in a new way prior to your session. Learn what style fits for you and I can always help along the way!
